Description: The three masted schooner Atlantic was the winner of The Kaiser's Cup race across the North Atlantic in 1905.
She set a never to be beaten record of 12 days, 4 hours, 1 minute; under sail over the 3,104 mile course.

Note: This work makes a great pair next to English's "Gloucester Grayling".


Artist Profile: American marine painter John English was born in Trenton, NJ in 1913. An active yachtsman, racer and student of maritime history, his on-hands knowledge of sailing and ships is reflected in the detail of his paintings.
John English has exhibited widely, winning many awards including a gold medal for marine painting from the Franklin Mint Gallery of American Art and a Second in Show from the Miami International Boat Show Exhibition. Five of his works have been published and he is listed in Who's Who in American Art, as well as The Dictionary of Sea Painters of Europe and America by E.H.H. Archibald.
